How your support makes a difference
Medical breakthroughs take time, and it is our hope to sustain the work of researchers striving to make a difference in the areas of heart disease, lung disease, mental health and dementia – conditions people we know and love may experience in their lifetimes.
Supporting research hours allows researchers to keep pushing towards impacts that may one day improve lives or give people a second chance at one.
By joining our mission for sustainable research, you can help us to provide hope for those with a life-altering condition now and into the future.

FAQs
Do I need permission to fundraise?
Yes. Legally anyone collecting funds on our behalf must be registered and have an Authority to Fundraise (ATF). Please email info@thecommongood.org.au to get started.
Do people get a receipt when they make a donation?
Any donation over $2 is tax-deductible. After making a donation, an automated receipt will be sent via email from our fundraising system.
If one of your donors loses their reciept, they can generate a new one by clicking “Login” and entering their email.
How will I know who donated to my fundraising page?
You can find a list of your donations on your fundraising page. You’ll also receive an email every time someone makes a donation.
You can also see all of your donations under the “My Donations” section in menu.
Are there any fundraising rules I need to know about?
There are rules for fundraisers to protect you, your donors, and The Common Good. Please view our Fundraising Terms and Conditions and let us know if you are unsure about anything.
It is important that you keep any expenses low and ensure they do not exceed 50% of your total fundraising.
What logos and branding can I use?
Once you have registered with us, we will send you our logo and logo guidelines. If you haven’t yet received this please email info@thecommongood.org.au
What does the money go towards?
All funds donated are used to support life-changing medical research into the areas of heart disease, lung disease, mental health and dementia via The Common Good’s research teams.
The Common Good also provides direct support and funding for equipment as well as patient care initiatives at both The Prince Charles Hospital and Caboolture Hospital.
If there is a specific area of research or a specific hospital you would like your fundraising dollars to be directed to, please contact info@thecommongood.org.au
Will we be covered under the Foundation’s public liability insurance?
Unfortunately, no. As a fundraiser you are responsible for obtaining any necessary insurance, permits or licences. This may include local government permission if you are organising an event in a public space.
Can The Common Good or one of your researchers attend my event or provide a guest speaker?
Our team is hugely appreciative of any fundraising efforts and can occasionally make themselves available. If you feel your event would benefit from a guest speaker, then please email info@thecommongood.org.au
