In Memory of Stephanie Johnson

Hello family and friends,

Stephanie was a wife, a mother, a nan, a sister and a friend whose warmth, strength and determination touched everyone who knew her. For the past few years she lived with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, a form of Interstitial Lung Disease, and she faced it with grace, humour and a fierce will to fight it for the people she loved.

On 2 March 2026, Stephanie received a lung transplant at The Prince Charles Hospital. She spent the next five and a half weeks in ICU, cared for by an extraordinary team of nurses, doctors and specialists who did everything they possibly could for her. On 9 April 2026, with her husband Mark, her children Simon, Michael and Meaghan, their partners, and her four sisters all by her side, Stephanie passed away peacefully. She was courageous and determined right to the very end.

Our family is forever grateful to The Prince Charles Hospital for the care, the research and the hope they give to families like ours. The transplant program and the research into lung disease gave us precious time with Stephanie that we would never otherwise have had, and we want to help make sure other families get that same chance, and more.
